Seven Seas Danmei Baihe License Tracker: 2026 Guide

If you want to read one of Seven Seas' new danmei licenses in English this year, you have three options: The Sword Named No Way Out, Seizing Dreams and Golden Assistant all have first volumes dated before the end of 2026. Everything else from this year's announcements lands in 2027, including all four books from its new baihe line. And if you'd rather start something that's already on shelves, one novel from the publisher's 2024 wave is now complete in English and the other finishes in early November.

This Seven Seas danmei baihe license tracker covers the novel licenses Seven Seas announced in 2026, at five moments: a single license in January, a batch of five in February, four at Anime Expo in July, three at Anime NYC in August and one baihe novel on October 28. The two 2024-wave books sit at the top because you can buy them now. It isn't the whole Seven Seas Danmei catalogue, which has many more series already in print. Every English date below comes from the book's Seven Seas series page, rechecked on October 20, 2026.

Seven Seas Danmei Baihe License Tracker: Already in English

Both came out of the twelve-title package Seven Seas announced in October 2024, and both are complete JJWXC originals. Thrice Married is already finished in English, all four volumes on shelves. Mistakenly Saving the Villain catches up two weeks later. If you want a finished English series by Christmas, these are the two.

The 2026 Licenses, by First English Volume

"Dated of 7" means the series page lists seven volumes in total but gives dates for only the first ones. A date on a series page is a schedule, not a book in hand, so check it again before you preorder.

Update (October 29, 2026): Seven Seas licensed a fourth baihe novel on October 28, Into the Sea by Yue Ben Du, a mermaid-and-cultivator romance; its announcement gives Vol. 1 for November 2027 at $20.99. Penguin Random House now lists Seizing Dreams Vol. 1 on December 8, 2026, a week after the December 1 still shown on its Seven Seas series page, so the two records no longer match.

Update (October 23, 2026): Seven Seas moved three first volumes on its series pages: Miss Forensics from July 6 to September 14, 2027, Matrilocal Marriage from August 24 to October 12, 2027, and First-Class Lawyer from July 27 to October 26, 2027. The First-Class Lawyer page now lists five volumes. The table shows the new dates; earlier versions gave the old ones.

Update (October 16, 2026): Seven Seas moved two first volumes back on its series pages and danmei schedule: The Sword Named No Way Out from November 3 to November 24, 2026 and Seizing Dreams from November 17 to December 1, 2026. Both new dates match what Penguin Random House, which distributes Seven Seas' print books, already listed.

This Year's Three: Sword, Dreams and Golden Assistant

The Sword Named No Way Out is the surprise at the front of the queue. Gong Wei, a powerful cultivator killed by his archenemy's sword, wakes sixteen years later in the body of a witless young disciple and finds someone committing murders under his name. It already has finished covers for its first two volumes, a four-volume plan and three dates, more than any other book from the February batch.

Seizing Dreams follows a week later, on the same day as Golden Assistant, and is the long commitment of the three: Seven Seas plans seven volumes and has dated two. Golden Assistant, one of three Fei Tian Ye Xiang novels on this list, has the shortest Chinese original of the three, under fifty chapters, and wraps in two volumes.

The Baihe Line: A Long Wait

Seven Seas Baihe opens with three novels, and none of them reaches English before September 2027. Miss Forensics comes first, a crime story with a heroine its own author warns readers about. Matrilocal Marriage follows in October; its Chinese original, which an earlier version of this tracker said finished in 2020, actually ended its main story in August 2021, and its title word has a history of its own (what ruzhui means). My Wandering Spirit Lady closes the set two weeks later, on October 26. JJWXC marks all three Chinese originals complete, so you're waiting on the translation, not the author.

The February Batch, and What Readers Wanted

The February announcement was five danmei novels at once, and the r/DanmeiNovels thread that day was mostly delight at the genre spread. "I'm so excited about all the modern danmei," wrote u/MaybeOkInside. u/Longterm-Winter00 was there for one book: "The Sword Named No Way Out! My favorite danmei has finally been licensed in English!" And u/GeauxPanthers99 had one complaint: "Nothing from Priest or Meng Xi Shi, huh? Maybe next time."

Next time came in August: at Anime NYC, Seven Seas announced priest's Faraway Wanderers, the novel behind the 2021 drama Word of Honor, as a deluxe hardcover. It's the one big name on this list without a date, so we'd treat it as a 2027-or-later book until the series page says otherwise. One more note on the February five: DanmeiNews describes Look Up at Me as an erotic work with a focus on BDSM, so check the content before you buy it as a gift.

Pick by how long you're willing to wait. Want a complete English series right now: Thrice Married, with Mistakenly Saving the Villain joining it in November. Want something new this year: The Sword Named No Way Out, then Seizing Dreams if seven volumes don't scare you.
