NovelBrief is an independent xianxia, wuxia, and danmei web novel guide site with one goal: give readers the reading guides, reviews, and licensing news they actually need, without spoiler dumps or filler content.
Our mission
The Chinese web novel space moves fast. New chapters, licensing announcements, ranking shakeups, platform exclusives. NovelBrief exists to cut through the noise and tell readers what matters, quickly and accurately.
We believe web novels deserve the same depth of coverage as mainstream media, without the hype cycles. Our reviews are independent, our guides and reviews are built on the official platform pages and named reader reviews, and our news is checked against the publisher before it goes live.
What we stand for
Honest reviews
No paid coverage, no sponsored editorial. A review score reflects what we could verify: the official platform page and what named readers say about the novel. A 6/10 means what it says.
Reader-first perspective
We write for people who actually read, not publishers. Every guide, news story, and review starts with 'what does the reader need to know?'
Fact-checked accuracy
Ranking positions, licensing dates, publisher announcements, and translation status are checked against the official page before publication, and each fact is logged with its source. We correct errors in place and update the page's date.
Web novels first
We cover xianxia, wuxia, xuanhuan, and danmei with the depth they deserve. No generic 'best light novel' filler, no publisher PR. Honest coverage of novels that fly under the radar.

Before publication, every number, date, and named claim is matched to a source page we opened, and articles checked under our current process end with a How We Checked This section listing their sources and the date. We do not publish sponsored content or accept payment for editorial coverage. Review scores are never influenced by publishers or authors.
