Is Erha Finished in English? Yes, and the Original Is Locked

The English run is done. The Chinese original is finished too, but its home site won't show it to you.

Verdict: Yes. Seven Seas finished the English edition with Volume 11 on March 24, 2026. The Chinese original is complete but locked on JJWXC.

Is Erha finished? Yes, in every sense but one. In English, The Husky and His White Cat Shizun has been complete since spring: Seven Seas put out the eleventh and last volume, and you can buy the whole run today.

Seven Seas covers for The Husky and His White Cat Shizun volume one, two men fighting under a full moon, and the pastel volume eleven special edition

The Chinese original, Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou's 二哈和他的白猫师尊 (Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun, "2ha" to fans), was finished long before that. The catch is where it lives. Jinjiang Literature City (JJWXC), the site it was serialized on, has kept it locked since October 2021, so the English paperbacks are the easy way to read it from start to finish.

Is Erha Finished in English? All of It Is Out

Seven Seas published the novel under its Siren line, with covers and interior art by St. The first volume landed in November 2022 and the last in March 2026, so the English run took about three and a half years, with a new book roughly every four months once it got going. Reading order is just the volume order.

Erha volume 11 isn't all main story, though. In a thread asking whether Erha is worth finishing, u/Wonderful_Rub_6468 put it plainly: "11 is just a bunch of extras, but the main story ends at half of volume 10." So if you only care about the ending, you'll get there a volume and a half early.

The audiobook is a different story. Seven Seas lists a single audio volume so far, out two days after the final paperback, and no second one yet.

Is Erha Finished in Chinese? Yes, but Locked

On the author's JJWXC page the novel still appears in the completed column, at about 1.6 million Chinese characters. Its title is masked to 二*******尊 and tagged 锁 (locked). Hover over it and a moderator note dated October 29, 2021 says the work is "temporarily locked" because of "national policies and regulations." Open the novel page and you get the same notice and a ten-second redirect.

The other two novels on that list, Case File Compendium (病案本) and Remnants of Filth (余污), carry no lock. Erha is the one that went dark. We won't point you to unofficial copies; the Seven Seas series page is where the complete official text is.

We haven't read Erha ourselves. The original can't be opened on JJWXC and Seven Seas posts no free sample, so what follows on pacing comes from readers who finished it.

Should You Finish It?

Readers who finished it split on that. In the "Is Erha worth finishing?" thread, u/mosswitch called volumes five and six "a bit of a low point" and said a common complaint is that "the ending is SO fast-paced." u/Bread_is__funny agreed the sixth was slow but promised that "some crazy stuff happens at the end of vol 7." The top reply, from u/horriblyeloquent, was simpler: finish it "so you don't have to always wonder what if."

Check the content warnings before you start. One reader's thread title says it for us: "I just read ERHA without knowing the CW - a cautionary tale."

The Cancelled Manga Doesn't Change the Answer

The Japanese manga was cancelled in August, before its first chapter reached print; our report on the Erha manga adaptation termination has the details. Nothing about that touched the Seven Seas novels, which were already complete by then.

Our Take

Erha is finished, and there's no reason to wait on it. If you've been holding off for the last volume, it's been out since March, so buy the set or start with volume one and keep going. Skip the audiobook unless you're happy listening to one book and reading the rest. If you'd rather sample the author first, her Case File Compendium has free opening chapters in Chinese and an English run that ends this winter; see whether Case File Compendium is finished. For how Erha stacks up against other finished series, our best danmei novels licensed in English has it next to the rest.
