Qidian Top Novels This Week: What's Trending Right Now

The two Qidian top novels at the head of September's Monthly Vote board were still there when the month ended, and they're first and second again in October. Below them the board churns: a finished supernatural novel that sat third on September 8 ended the month 13th. Two of the top five already have official English editions.

Qidian Top Novels: The September 8 Snapshot

Qidian describes the board as a list "以起点平台投出月票为排序依据的榜单", ranked by the monthly tickets cast on the platform. Votes below are as drawn on our September 8 capture.

Ye Wu Jiang is Chen Dong's current serial, ongoing, with Chapter 811 posted on September 8. Wikipedia lists it in English as Night Without Bounds, running since 2024. Lao Shi Ren was the only finished book in the top five: marked 完本 (complete), last updated with the author's afterword on August 31, and pitched by its blurb as "一本传统灵异小说", a traditional supernatural novel. Qing Wu Gaokao Shi Du Jie opens its blurb with demons and cultivators hiding in modern society, "享受科技带来的便利" (enjoying the conveniences of technology).

Two of the Qidian Top Novels Are Already in English

The match comes from the synopses and from goodmore233, who wrote in an earlier r/noveltranslations post that they worked as an editor at one of China's top web novel platforms before joining Wuxiaworld. Their June 2026 post on Qidian's newly promoted authors lists Ji Yueren as "author of The Mirror Legacy" and Bear Wolf Dog (熊狼狗) as the writer who "finally broke through and reached the top with You Dare To Cultivate Without Money?!"

We read chapter 1 of The Mirror Legacy, "First Entry", on Wuxiaworld on October 17, 2026. Lu Jiangxian remembers pulling an all-nighter in his rented room, a can of beer, his heart racing. Then he's at the bottom of a shallow stream, catching his reflection: "That looks like a round, shiny thing…" He's a mirror now. He decides death isn't so bad, then admits "if this goes on, it's bound to drive me crazy with boredom." Fish circle him and "a crab even attempted to turn him over." That night the moonlight soaks into him like qi, and the chapter ends with him resolving to stay hidden from any cultivator who could destroy him. It's a quiet, odd start, closer to a nature documentary than a sect brawl, and it made us want chapter 2. Wuxiaworld lists it as ongoing at 1,850 chapters on October 17; u/Yashas__ in the thread above: "Read mirror legacy. Its the best cn in ages."

You Dare To Cultivate Without Money?! is on Webnovel, updating at "21 chs / week". Its reviews are mixed: dayamaryllis called it "Cyber Punk XianXia" and said "it felt fresh to me", while TheGodlyFateFox complained that "The amount of the MC's debt keeps switching between 70,000 and 700,000."

How September Finished, and October So Far

The September 8 board didn't hold below the top two. Ye Wu Jiang and Xuan Jian Xian Zu kept first and second, finishing on 200,539 and 187,707 votes. Mei Qian Xiu Shen Me Xian? climbed to third with 133,226, Wu Dao! (武道！) came in fourth with 123,203, and Qing Wu Gaokao Shi Du Jie held fifth with 112,224.

Lao Shi Ren took the fall. Third on September 8, the completed novel finished the month 13th with 75,481 votes, while the ongoing serials kept collecting tickets with every new chapter.

October started a fresh board with the same leader. On October 12: Ye Wu Jiang 76,163, Xuan Jian Xian Zu 74,513, Wu Dao! 59,730, Mei Qian Xiu Shen Me Xian? 57,276, Qing Wu Gaokao Shi Du Jie 52,208. On October 17 the order was unchanged: 85,625, 83,314, 68,243, 65,155 and 57,242. Our October 2026 monthly vote race picks the board up on October 21.

Our Take

Don't read much into one day of this board. Lao Shi Ren looked like a top-three book on September 8 and finished 13th, once the serials around it kept posting chapters and it had none left to post. The signal worth trusting is the pair at the top: Ye Wu Jiang and Xuan Jian Xian Zu held first and second on September 8, at the end of September, and on both of our October checks. Ye Wu Jiang has no English edition we could find; Xuan Jian Xian Zu does, and after chapter 1 we'd point you straight at it.

How We Checked This

We re-opened Qidian's October board on October 17, 2026 and read its vote counts off our screenshot, because Qidian draws them in an obfuscated font. The September figures come from our September 8 capture and the final September board captured October 8. We also used the Wuxiaworld page and chapter 1 of The Mirror Legacy, the Webnovel page for You Dare To Cultivate Without Money?!, Wikipedia's article on Chen Dong, and two r/noveltranslations posts by goodmore233. On October 20 we checked every vote count against those screenshots again and re-opened the Wuxiaworld, Webnovel and Reddit pages. Qidian's board wouldn't load for our browser that day; the figures here are dated snapshots, so nothing on this page depends on it.
